I grew up in Lincoln Nebraska. I grew up fairly lean and was a pretty active kid. When I hit college I started to put on some weight, mainly due to poor diet and the typical college party scene. I earned my bachelors degree in Family Science. After I got married I found myself slowly gaining more weight, until I hit a point in which I was 84 pounds heavier than I am now, and I was unhappy. How did I get there? Eating whatever I wanted to, eating out all the time, drinking daily, not exercising. Pretty basic.
I was miserable. I could no longer shop in my own closet, doctors were terming me as “obese” on their charts, I hated being in pictures. I needed to make a change. So I did. I had an “a-ha” moment and I took it a step at a time. I started eating/cooking at home. I started exercising. I was slowly losing weight. I found myself pregnant with my first child and I ended up losing all of my weight over the course of two years and having two babies in less than two years. It was not easy. I was training in martial arts and finding my love for exercise.
Over the course of several years I earned my first degree black belt in karate and found my health. As I was learning I also finally found my passion for what I wanted to do when I grew up! I studied for my certification and the rest is history! I am now a single mom of two boys, Max (13) and Luke (11). I know the process of gaining your health is a tough road, but there is no finish line! Helping others achieve their best self through health and wellness is truly my passion in life and I am so grateful to be able to do something that I love so much.
